Charles Ewing Fine Art

Whiskey
Giclee Print on Fine Watercolor Paper
18 x 14
Available

From an original India Ink on Claybord painting by artist Charles Ewing, this happy old fellow posed for us one afternoon in a hotel lobby in Guanojuato, Mexico. He was an old timer who had seen Pancho Villa several times during the revolution. Posing is tiring for a fellow of 82 years requiring the bolstering support of a whiskey at every break. The stories and the laughter became more infectious with each shot and this piece was done from studies while posing and later finished in my studio from photos I took during an animated break.

Many of you may have seen this image circulating on the internet via email with the title of "The Cowboy" or the "Old Farmer". We do not know how or who has been passing this email around with my image on it, but by the high number of requests for this print, we decided to make it available.
